"All the tried and noted riders from the stations near and far       Had mustered at the homestead overnight" Okay... so it was the trainers that had mustered, but there was no less enthusiasm than in Banjo's poem! Some of them marshalled for the start.   Indy about to adjust his ridiculous looking "pith helmet" arrangement on his bash hat! Indy (the horse) is asleep as usual! Just as well, because, as you can see, the rider is really paying attention to the steering gear
(I don't think)!
Young Eliza Symons "doing the right thing" and giving her mount a spell as she wanders out on the flats.  Hang on! It is all flat out here!
Perry Honeyman on Sky and Dave Macey on Buck at about the 3 Km mark.   Phil Carroll riding Santa Arabia Koizar. Now this bloke looks like he could have been one of the "men from Snowy River" and, in fact, comes from somewhere up that way!   Lynda Magill and Puffin with Rebecca Jenkins with Sam
We can't read the numbers of these two intrepid Trainers, so we can't identify them. Can anyone help us out?   Jessica Symons leading Bazil. It was hot and blooming dry out there. We were all grateful to the radio stewards for the cups of iced water!    I don't know who the lady is at the head of the 3 musketeers, but that's Lynda Magill in the middle and Rebecca Jenkins bringing up the rear.
